I travel for work, and there has been a sharp uptick in junkies/homeless living in many of the hotels I stay at (Hamptons mostly). It is completely wrong to be subjected to the full rack rate and then literally have to avoid the common areas of these hotels due to the congregation of those with state issued vouchers.
It sounds cold hearted, but i cannot stand paying $800-$1000 during the work week only to not be able to partake in the breakfast, laundry, gym or other amenities provided.
In some states I am thinking that over half of the guests on any given night are on vouchers. A public list would be nice. Maybe help some families avoid a potential safety issue. There is not enough staffing and zero security to prevent or respond to a potential problem caused by these opioid fueled zombies.
I do realize this is not just a Hilton money grab. All major brands are doing this crap and it's disgusting.
