Did you all know what your portion every month would be?

hi so i moved into my new place not long ago, almost a months time and haven't been told what my portion of the rent will be. i don't think the owners have been given their amount either because in the tenant portal there is a still a balance.

i've reached out to HACLA but awaiting a response, i haven't been in touch with my processor as she is horrible about replying to me, did you all know what your portion every month would be?

Yeah, I knew mine before I even touched the keys. They usually tell you your portion before move-in like it's the sacred number you need to survive. If they didn’t, it’s probably HACLA doing their classic magic trick disappearing when you need answers. Keep bugging them. Politely, but like a mosquito with rent due.

I got approved for just a 2 bedroom, am I able to ask my case worker for a 3 bedroom? Or is that too much? They’re aware I’m a single mom with 2 kids. I’d prefer all of us to not share rooms if possible. I need some advice please! I’m completely new to this & don’t want to ruin anything.

If any of your kids have a disability where they require their own bedroom. You might be able to put in a request for a reasonable accommodation.
