I think my rent amount is wrong?

I just got the amount for my rent portion and it’s all of my disability? I thought it was supposed to only be 30% of my income?

I get $700 in child support too but even with that assert rent portion is way over 30%.

I dont know the conditions on how this is determined, but sometimes its up to 40%. "In the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, renters typically pay 30% to 40% of their adjusted monthly income towards rent and utilities."

If it's not a wrong calculation, it could be that you are in a unit with more bedrooms than you're approved for. For example, if your voucher only goes up to 1 bedroom and you have 2 then you will have to pay the difference. The rent calculation form should show you how this was calculated.
