How long did you wait after receiving your approval letter for the home choice voucher until the day of orientation?
So I came up on the waiting list. I did the interview. Counselor said it would be about 30-45 days until I receive my approval letter, so that would be around 60+ days after appointment. If I get approved, in your experience, how far away was your orientation date scheduled for?
I'm trying to figure out if I wait another 45 days, then get approved, am I looking at another 1, 2, 3 months down the road until orientation. This whole process was started back in October 2020. I ask because it is just ironic that there are potential apartments available right now, but by the time the voucher rolls around they could all be rented out. I just feel like, FTG, it drives me crazy knowing how much of your life is wasted giving in to the expectation you are getting approved, therefore you are going to be saved, and then be let down because its a tortoise paced system.
